1. Information we collect

When you sign up, we store your email address, display name, and (if you sign in with Google) your profile picture and Google account ID. We also store your timezone, digest preferences, and the YouTube channels you subscribe to within skim it.

During first-run setup, if you choose to connect YouTube, we make a one-time read of your YouTube subscription list to help you pick channels. We do not store the Google access token after that initial read and we never request write access to your YouTube account.

2. How we use it

We use your information to deliver the service you signed up for: fetching new uploads from your selected channels, generating summaries, and sending your scheduled digest. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Third-party processors

skim it. relies on the following sub-processors:

  • Supabase (database, authentication, realtime)
  • Vercel (application hosting)
  • Inngest (background job orchestration)
  • Anthropic (summary generation)
  • Supadata (transcript retrieval)
  • Google / YouTube Data API (channel + video metadata)
  • Resend (transactional email delivery)
  • Stripe (billing — paid plans only)

4. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing the address below.

5. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. If you reside in a jurisdiction that grants you specific data-protection rights (e.g. the EU, UK, California), the final policy will detail how to exercise them.
